Ralphs Joins San Diego Coastkeeper at 7th Annual Creek to Bay Cleanup

On Saturday, April 25, more than 50 Ralphs Members and their families celebrated Earth Month by helping remove debris from San Diego’s Ocean Beach. The effort is part of I Love a Clean San Diego’s 7th Annual Creek to Bay Cleanup.

Ralphs teamed up with San Diego Coastkeeper at the beach cleanup effort in conjunction with our current checkstand canister campaign, which benefits environmental charities, including Coastkeeper.

Our volunteers picked up more than 300 pounds of trash from the beach and local side streets that might otherwise end up in the ocean polluting our waters and harming wildlife.

At the event, Ralphs also took the opportunity to present a check for $23,741 to San Diego Coastkeeper, representing the funds donated by Ralphs in 2008 from our former reusable bag program.

This is the second consecutive year that Ralphs has participated in the Creek to Bay Cleanup.

Many thanks to all our “green” volunteers for taking time out of their day to support this important environmental effort!
