On Saturday, April 26, more than 100 Ralphs San Diego Team Members joined with other volunteers at I Love a Clean San Diego's Creek to Bay Cleanup site at Tourmaline Beach in Pacific Beach. This site was hosted by San Diego Coastkeeper, one of the environmental charities that benefits from our Reusable Shopping Bag program. Our volunteers picked up trash and other debris up and down the beach. Many of our Members told me how much they enjoyed this event and several said that people on the beach thanked them for what they were doing. Ralphs provided refreshments for all the volunteers. In addition, Charles "CB" Barfield made a ceremonial check presentation to San Diego Coastkeeper for $23,000 representing the funds provided since the campaign began last April. In his comments, SDC's Executive Director said that these funds enable them to continue to host cleanup events throughout San Diego County and thanked our big team of volunteers for participating.

Many thanks to Wayne Colwell for coming out to show his support -- to Brian Zobel at #207 for providing the refreshments -- to our San Diego Community Ambassadors for their assistance -- and to all of our GREAT Ralphs volunteers!
